samah great pressing—packaged with both a polylined inner sleeve as well as a plastic outer sleeve. record played flawlessly: no pops, crackles, or surface noise that i could notice. excellent sound quality and wonderful music! enjoyed both tracks but i really love the bass-heavy one on “that side” Favorite track: Theon Bower - Pelicana (2 min preview).

    PDSC #001 is the first of many vinyl-only releases from the Pangaea Disco crew.

    It features two singles fusing the worlds of electronica and African folk music, ‘Red Skies’ by Takao and ‘Pelicana’ by Theon Bower (Pangaea Disco co-founders and long-term studio collaborators). The tracks are available exclusively on 12” vinyl, lathe cut in the heart of South London.

    Strictly one per person. Limited to 100 copies. We cut these records to order, which sometimes can take up to 2 weeks before dispatching, so please bear with us during busy times!

Takao’s ‘Red Skies’ provides an electronic twist on Congolese folk music with an emotionally charged house track. Perfect for sunsets and sunrises, the production combines male vocal chants, balearic synths and understated shuffley drums, creating a hypnotic groove that is ideal for transitional moments in a set.

On the flip side, Theon Bower’s ‘Pelicana’ brings the producer’s signature lo-fi, bass driven sound into warmer waters with an international twist, sampling closely guarded records and adding a healthy dose of percussion over classic synth leads.
